History of Stuti Ramya Community
The Stuti Ramya Community is located near the foot of Chamundi Hills on the Mysore-Nilgiri Road, a region once known as Danapalli Garden and Yelethota. The community was founded at the invitation of the Bishop of Mysore with the initial plan to establish a technical school. However, due to financial constraints, this plan could not be realized. To support the community, the sisters turned to various initiatives, including poultry farming, agriculture, and sericulture. Additionally, they established a hostel for young girls. Unfortunately, due to certain challenges, the Diocese of Mysore took over the hostel for nearly two years, and the community faced the threat of closure.
On May 24, 1982, when the Bangalore Province was divided into regions, this community was designated as the Regional House and given the name “Stuti Ramya,” meaning “praising the beauty of God.” In April 1986, Stuti Ramya became the Provincialate. During that year, the hostel for young girls was closed, and the building was repurposed to serve as the initial formation house for both provinces. Two years later, the Postulancy was introduced, followed by the Novitiate. In 1995, the Postulancy and Novitiate were relocated to Kotehundi, while Stuti Ramya continued to serve the early stages of formation.
Formation House
Stuti Ramya is currently a vibrant Formation House, fostering spiritual growth and development of asperiants discerning their vocation, in the early stages of their spiritual journey. These candidates are thriving in a nurturing environment that helps them grow in their faith, develop their skills, and form strong bonds with one another. The communities dedicated guidance is empowering them to reach their full potential as they prepare for a life of service.
Sneha Niketan: A Home for Senior Citizens
Sneha Niketan is a recent initiative by the Province, created to address the needs of the elderly in the community. It provides a safe, loving, and peaceful home for senior citizens. Currently, 8 senior citizens are supported at Sneha Niketan, where they receive companionship, assistance, and the assurance of their well-being and dignity. This initiative is a testament to the community’s commitment to offering love and care to the elderly during the later stages of their lives.
